July 2010 What’s Quackin’

Hello again:

What do you think of when July comes around? Well…If you are like most folks your thoughts turn to Fireworks, Bar-B-Qs, vacations, and heat. Yes, heat. This old Gridley area can get pretty darn hot about this time of year.  Did you know that by just dropping one letter from Gridley you can get the word GRIDLE?(See, even the word Gridley brings up visions of heat)We Mallards spend a lot of our time seeking ponds of water to keep us cool. When we find one, I’m not quite sure why we don’t just settle down there and enjoy the refreshing, cool water. I guess we are a lot like humans; we like to move around and explore. When you get ready to do that, move, (I love that word; I get to meet a lot of people when they bring their stuff here for storage) go on vacation, or even go exploring, remember, bring your things here for safe, secure, shady protection while you are gone. While you’re here don’t forget to pick up your Bar-B-Q and whatever else you will need on your excursion. (There’s that big word coming from LITTLE duck.)

When you return, you can pick-up the things you might need for the rest of summer, when you do, you will glad that you stored them here out of the HOT GRIDLEY SUN, They will be in good shape, not faded and sun baked, ready to serve you for many more years.

Remember folks, we are here for you, we love ya!

Till next time, here’s Quackin’ atcha!

L.J Quacker

PS: Thinking of moving? Why not stop by Mallard Mini Storage and pick up a copy of Moving/Storage tips? We are easy to find. Just down the street from Les Schwab Tire, on the east side of the highway. Or give us a call (530) 846-6864, and we will mail you a copy, along with our price list.

June 2010 What’s Quacken

Hello again folks:

Another month has come and gone. Can you believe it’s June already? The calendar says June, the weather says March. Anyway, seems that this old Quacker didn’t even get turned all the way around before May was gone! And, I thought that Mallards could fly at a pretty good clip.

Things here at Mallard Mini Storage are all just:”DUCKEY” I have been able to talk to, and see a lot of our GREAT tenants throughout the winter. Although many of our faithful tenants are out of the area, they know their stuff is safe and secure, and they don’t even have to leave the comfort of home to pay the storage rent. They can do it on the internet at MALLARDMINISTORAGE.COM, by phone, by mail, or in person. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, debit cards, and of course, good old Green cash! We ducks especially like the color green. After all, some of our feathers are green, and Frogs also are green (Yummy) my favorite snack You can even set up your account for payments to be automatically made each month, or we can set it up for you, just give us a call (530)846-6864. We know that life can be a hassle, so we try to make things as easy as we can for our tenants. Regular access hours to your unit are seven days a week from 7 to 7; even longer hours can be setup for you with special arrangements.

Gridley now looks brand new and shinny with its new face lift. Highway 99 has new traffic lights, crosswalks, etc. Big Archway that leads to down town and to Grey Lodge, where you can feast your eyes upon A lot of BEAUTIFUL MALLARDS. Of course there is a large variety of other wild life also.Come on, check Gridley out. When you fall in-love with it, and decide this is where you want to be, don’t forget to call or come on by Mallard Mini Storage and let us watch your stuff till you get all settled in.

It’s been my pleasure quackin at you. Until next time: DON’T QUACK UP…PACK UP!

may 2010 What’s Quacken

Here it is, May already. April was kind of wet and cold. We Ducks (Mallards) love wet and our beautiful feathers keep us nice and warm. However, Humans need shelter from these things, especially wet. Mallard Mini Storage has the solution just waiting for you to utilize. Why not dedicate one of our units for all your summer things, BBQ, Umbrellas, tables, Ice chest, etc? With summer and nice weather quickly approaching, you can bring all your summer stuff here, freeing up some precious garage/spare room space. With your stuff stored here, when that week-end (WOOPIE!) Finally gets here, just hop into the car, stop by Mallard, grab what you need and hurry on down to the Lake, Picnic area, etc.Just think, after your picnic, BBQ, get-together, your tired, you’re thinking about Monday morning, going back to work, etc. The stress is starting to build then, a smile spreads across your face as you suddenly remember, “Hey, I won’t have to worry about stuffing all this stuff back into my garage, I can just drop it off at Mallard Mini Storage on the way home!” With our convenient hours, 7 to 7…7 days a week, even longer (with just a phone call) you can utilize your rented unit almost as if it is in your back yard. Best of all, you now have all that extra space at home, but remember, space has a way of disappearing, and you still have room in your unit at Mallard Mini Storage, or if needed, we can transfer your rental agreement to a larger unit. There is absolutely no charge for this service, and any rents paid on the present unit would be transferred to the new one. You would not lose any money. All you would need to do is transfer your stuff.

As always, Thanks for your friendship and your business. I’ll be quackin at you again soon

Apil 2010 What's Quacken

Hello again from your old friend L.J. Quacker.

Wow! April already! Time flies almost as fast as us ducks, especially Mallards. We are known for speed and MOVING abilities. I just had to throw a little pun in there. I tried to find the origin of APRIL FOOLS, It seems that there are so many theories of how the tradition began that it remains as much of a mysteryto us, as it was back 300 years or so ago. In any case it’s a good excuse to pull jokes on your friends

I have a Mallard cousin back in the Midwest, whom, I think was more foolish than he was a fool. In the spring of the year all that snow would melt and form little ponds that would freeze over at night. I can still see my cousin coming in fast and low, hitting the ice and skidding across the pond, right into a bush. I tell you I laughed (quacked) so loud, that the ice started to arrival signals the beginning of GOOD OLD SPRING and with spring comes every housewife’s seeming, enquack (crack!).joyable anticipation of Spring House Cleaning. Hey ladies, and you gentlemen too! Remember, Mallard Mini Storage is here for you. Why not come on in, secure a safe place for the things you won’t need right now, and at the same time, make room available for the things you plan on obtaining this summer? If you have a college student, or are one, Mallard has 5X10 units, as well as larger ones available that are perfect for storing school things until you need access to them again. Give us a call 846-6864, or come on by 1796 Highway 99in good old Gridley (Duck Country). Don't forget to stop by, say hello & pick-up a free gift. We are just down the street from Les Schwab Tire, on the east side of the highway.

Mar 2010 What's Quacken

Hello again…Well, it is starting to look a lot like spring here in Gridley. The Trees are starting to bud; some are even in full bloom. This nice weather and nature coming awake makes this old Mallard want to start looking for a good place to make my nest and to store all my precious stuff. We here at Mallard Mini Storage have a nest ready and waiting for you. What do you think? Is it time to store your winter things, like Rain Gear, cold weather clothing, Etc? After all, you gotta have room to keep that Barbeque and all that nice lawn furniture until week ends come along, WOOPIE! Don’t you just love week-ends and barbequing? So, why not take all that stuff you won’t need right away down to Mallard Mini Storage? We will watch and protect it for you. If you do need it, you have access to your storage unit 7 to 7---7 days. If some day you may need access to your unit later then these hours because you have to work late, or for whatever reason, just give the office a call before 5pm, (that’s when us ducks retire) and we will certainly accommodate your request. We are here to serve you. It’s ok for a duck to serve people, but not for people to serve ducks. You should only serve turkeys. Just a little duck humor.

Remember, stop by, say hello when you are in the Great Gridley duck area!

Take care, have a great spring. I’ll be quacking at you again soon!

Feb 2010 What's Quacken

Can you believe it? The holiday season has come and gone already!Time   seems to go so fast now days, I meet myself getting up as I go to bed. That's how  the "Over The Hill" phrase got started. You see when we are young, we are constantly climbing the hill of life. As we age, we keep getting closer to the top. Finally that day comes when we reach the top and start down the other side. By this time we are old and Over The Hill, and good old gravity pulls us down the other side. By the time we get to the bottom, we have accumulated all kinds of stuff and run out of a place to keep it... Aha! that's where us Mallards come in, we are experts at storing all sorts of stuff. We have been here in Gridley for sixteen years now, we can find a place for you to keep life's treasures and you can rest easy knowing they are safe and secure. What a sneaky way to get into a sales pitch, Huh? Well, you know how it is, if you need space, you need space, and we here at Mallard Mini Storage have live-in  Managers who are always making sure that your stuff is safe.I guess that is about all this old Mallard can think of, right now. I'll be talking to you again soon. Don't forget to come back often.

"HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN" The work has finally been completed on our facility painting and blacktop resurfacing project! and, just in time too. That rain and wind was MEAN! Boy, if it was a preview of what Old Man Winter has in store for us, we had better make sure our things are well protected.

I want to thank all our GREAT tenants for their patients and understanding while the work was being done. What can I say? Mallard Mini Storage has the best customers in world right here in Gridley! We love you!

Have you noticed, the weather is starting to take on our typical fall season look?  Kinda looks like an early winter. Now is the time to start thinking about where, what and how you are going to keep "Old Man Winter" away from your outdoor furniture, Bar-B-Q and other Summer stuff.  We, here at Mallard Mini Storage have those problems pre-solved for you!

Give us a call. Let us help you to put a crimp into Old Man Winter's plans. He does have a plan, you know. He wants to work with his cousin "Rusty Crud", to damage your stuff so you have to go buy new when good old Summer comes again.

Don't be left with the thought..."Man I wish I had got my expensive stuff down to Mallard Mini Storage, when I first read this".

Call us today, or better still...Come on by, Pick up a free gift, say hello and check us out.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Dec 2009 What's Quacken

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our tenants, familes and loved ones the very Best Christmas and New Year ever! Thank you for your faithful business throughout the past year. Without you guys and gals, this old duck would be grounded, literally, "A duck out of water." We are sincerely looking forward to serving your storage needs in the coming years.  _________________________________________________________________________________________________

Nov 2009 What's Quacken

Well folks, looks like it's about time for turkeys to go into hiding again. Wouldn't you just hate to be a turkey? Come to think about it, it's no fun being a duck either. But we are a bit safer during the thanksgiving holiday, as everyone is looking to grab a turkey. Then, lo and behold, Christmas isn't far behind, then everybody seems to want a goose. That is when I start to worry, because a lot of people mistake us ducks (especialy us fat ones) for geese. I get threatend all the time here at the storage facility. Hunters bring their decoys here for safe storing until the next duck season opens. Some of those decoys look pretty darn good to me, and the temptation to jump in the storage unit with them is very great. But my manager would frown on that, I'm sure. Ok, that's enough of my ramblings. I want all you good humans to have a great thanksgiving. Remember, Don't quack up

Hello you good looking people!

It’s you’re old friend, L.J. Quacker quacken at ya’ again. Here it is March already! Easter is just around the corner. As a duck, I feel sorry for those rabbits, delivering all those eggs. Oh, well, at least, they are delivering chicken eggs, and leaving those duck eggs alone. I just made up a new joke: Why do Easter eggs come from chickens instead of ducks?Because, duck eggs are hard to “quack”! Not bad for a little old duck, Huh?

The almond trees are all in blossom, the sun is feeling warmer each day, and spring is coming on fast. Time to start thinking about getting that BBQ and lawn furniture out of storage, and replace it with winter stuff you won’t need for another year. That’s where we come in; we are here waiting for you with a nice secure storage space for your stuff.

Mallard Mini Storage, as always is concerned with you, our customer and friends’ peace of mind and comfort, knowing that your stuff is being looked after. And will be here for you whenever you may need it. We have in the last several months made many improvements to the Facility. We have re-sealed the blacktop, re-painted the entire complex. We are now in the process of having the roofs of all the units re-sealed, to insure there are no leaks.  More improvements are in the works, for later down the road. We know that you value your stuff as much as we value you as our customer.

Well…I guess that will do it for now. I’ll be quacken at you again later on, so don’t forget to come back here to this
